Here are the new rules for running or operating e-rickshaw vehicles on the roads of West Bengal State:
- TOTO speed limit: 25 km/h max.
- Only 4 passengers allowed.
- Monthly payments must be made on time.
- Can only operate in approved areas.
- TAN is valid for 1 year or 18 months, starting from the issue date.
- Providing false info could lead to a ₹5,000 fine.
- Breaking the rules may result in a ₹500 fine.
For the passenger security and safety All these rules are mandatory and followed by the e-rickshaw operators.
The Bengal government already made e-rickshaw registration to maintain the road security and also made these rules that are also safe for the passenger and even the operator of the e-rickshaw.
NOTE: The West Bengal government and the transport department have declared that every e-rickshaw vehicle operator must follow the rules and regulations. If anyone breaks these rules and regulations, they will be penalized with a heavy fine; it is also possible that registration will be cancelled.
